What Energy-Efficient Upgrades Are Available Through the ECO4 Scheme?

Eligibility

Home Insulation

You may be eligible for free home insulation grants covering various types of insulation, such as cavity wall insulation, internal wall insulation, loft insulation, and room-in-roof insulation. Proper insulation helps reduce heat loss, lowering both your energy bills and carbon emissions. If you qualify for an insulation grant—or already have insulation installed—you could also be eligible for additional funding, such as solar grants.

Solar Panels

Solar panels offer an eco-friendly, low-carbon energy solution that can lead to significant savings. They work with daylight rather than direct sunlight, meaning they can still generate electricity even on cloudy days. The energy produced can be used immediately, stored in a battery for later use, or exported to the grid, allowing you to earn money through the Smart Export Guarantee.

Eligibility

Heating

Funding could provide you with a dependable heating system for your home. You may qualify for a first-time installation of a boiler and central heating system, or your property could be eligible for an advanced heat pump, offering a more energy-efficient way to heat your home and hot water. No matter which option suits your needs best, you can expect significant savings on your energy bills.

Air Source Heat Pump

Air source heat pumps offer an energy-efficient, low-carbon heating solution that can significantly reduce your home’s heating costs.
They extract heat from the outside air — even on cold days — and convert it into usable warmth for your home and hot water system.
This renewable heating system can be used year-round and is eligible for funding under the ECO4 scheme.
By switching to an air source heat pump, you can lower your carbon footprint and cut energy bills, all while increasing your property’s energy efficiency.

Not everyone in the energy sector is trustworthy.

Rest assured, we partner with installers who are HIES & EPVS approved, ensuring reliability and quality service.

ECO4 is a four-year initiative running from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026, aimed at enhancing the energy efficiency of the UK’s most poorly insulated homes, particularly those occupied by low-income and vulnerable households.
The funding for the ECO scheme comes from medium and large energy suppliers in the UK. These suppliers are required to finance the installation of energy efficiency measures in British homes, with each supplier’s target determined by its share of the domestic energy market. To meet these targets, obligated energy suppliers collaborate with installers to implement various energy-saving measures in homes across the country.
The first step is to confirm your eligibility. Use our eligibility checker to find out if your home qualifies, and we’ll handle everything else from there!
The ECO4 scheme is the newest phase of the UK government’s ongoing effort to boost energy efficiency nationwide. With many households facing fuel poverty, this initiative focuses on supporting lower-income households.
Upgrading to a new A+ rated condensing boiler could save you 20-30% on your energy bills and protect you from future price increases.

Is your boiler over 15 years old?

The ECO4 scheme helps replace outdated, inefficient systems with a new energy-efficient boiler, helping to cut household bills and carbon emissions.

Receiving income-related benefits?

You may qualify for a free boiler grant if you receive eligible benefits such as Universal Credit or Pension Credit under the government ECO4 scheme.

Are you a UK homeowner or private tenant?

If you're a UK homeowner or private tenant with a low EPC-rated property, you could receive a fully funded new boiler through the ECO4 government scheme.
